Well it seems the tables may have turned. Recently at dinner with them, Liz mentioned doing a polar plunge on New Year’s Day. My wife recoiled. Jumping into cold water at dawn is not her idea of a good time. Sam was in the same boat. I wasn’t totally interested but now that it came down to just me and Liz I said I think it would be fun. So there’s a tentative plan now on New Year’s Eve we will be traveling and getting an Airbnb the four of us. On New Year’s Day morning, Liz and I are going to go do the plunge together. Our turn to be half naked alone together.

Quick update. My wife has taken to referring to the polar plunge as my date with Liz. Today she asked “what are you wearing on your date?” I asked wtf she was talking about. She said “your date with Liz.” No jealousy in her tone just cracking a joke. So I flipped it back. “Didn’t we tell you? It’s a nude plunge”. For the briefest of moments I think she believed me. Then reason set in and she said “oh shut up”. Then I told her I was gonna wear my normal trunks. These are light green and when wet you can sort of see skin through them. I’m hoping to let them cling to my package and see if Liz takes a peek.
We head out tomorrow evening and our Airbnb has a heated pool and spa so I’m expecting a lot of hot tub time with them too. Excited to check out Liz and see Sam eyeballing my wife.
