"Sunset Strip" Dean Street, Soho
This club closed last year. Apparently, there was "inappropriate" touching. What is the matter with the authorities? Who cares if consenting adults touch when they are in private, adult, spaces?
Before Sunset Strip closed it had gone up market and was, I believe, quite plush. But I knew Sunset Strip back in the 1970s, when it was the dirtiest (I don't mean in the sexual sense), most run-down establishment imaginable.
It wasn't somewhere I visited often, but from time to time I would stop by in the early afternoon and sit in the front row. The girls, and their acts were uninspiring, and if a girl failed to turn up the club would put a blue movie on for 10 minutes. The movies were scratchy, monochrome, soft porn flicks with dumb plots.
No one cared, so I would usually wank despite being on the front row. I only recall Cumming once despite wanking on most visits. The worst that ever happened was that an obese (250lb) stripper asked why if I wanted to wank I didn't stay at home with a magazine.
There used to be a number of "fake" strip clubs around Soho. Having bought a ticket, instead of sending one downstairs, one was directed to the Sunset Strip, on Dean Street where you were charged a second time. I only fell for this once, and that is how I came to discover "the worst strip club in Soho".
