I made my own extended edit of the episode 3 scene. This more explicitly (and exquisitely) conveys her horror at looking around the audience and seeing people that she knows: not just her friends, as it appeared in the above edit, but also, and in particular, an older man.
Also, I was trying to think of who Alice reminds me of, and then it came to me: Zooey Deschanel. She looks
a lot like Zooey.
