Similar here, the same happened last year when she grew out the hair a bit for her first (and only) wax. I was eating her out and she apologized for the stubble. That felt a bit weird as about half a year before she didn't have any issues with me eating her out while she had a full bush.

Now she has a bit of stubble again as she needs to grow it a bit for the first session of electrolysis.
