I think not asking your dad was the right decision. If you ask directly, your dad might feel awkward later. You should ask your wife's opinion on this, maybe she has a better way to confirm your suspicions
we almost forgot about mr. Happy. Maybe next time when visit him, your wife can ask for mr. Happy's help to remove the tick from your wife's body. He would be happy to do it, i mean he will really really happy
