This reminds me of the day I helped my ex-girlfriend's parents move. In their attic was a bookcase full of photo albums. Each one was meticulously labeled: "Vacation France 1998", "First Birthday [Girlfriend’s Name] 1991", "Trip to the Zoo 2001", and so on.
As we packed everything into boxes, we’d pause now and then to flip through the albums. My girlfriend would point out people and places, sharing little stories she remembered.
Halfway through packing, I noticed an album tucked behind the others. It was white and unlabeled.
I remember thinking: "That's strange!" Since everything else was labeled and ordered.
I opened the album and it was filled with nude pictures of my mother in law. At the time I knew her she was in her early fifties, a school teacher, a very kind and loving lady, but very neat and modest. and a bit boring. But here she was, I guess in her early and mid twenties, topless, and often completely naked.
It wasn't porn. They were more like snapshots of moments when my father in law saw my mother in law naked and he took a quick picture. Most pictures didn't look posed. These pictures were probably taken before my girlfriend was born, so in the late eighties or very early nineties. There were topless pictures on a beach, naked pictures where my mother in law was taking a shower, naked pictures in the bedroom, and so on. She had big saggy breasts (bigger than my girlfriend) and a big brown bush (my girlfriend was completely shaved).
There were a few pictures of her wearing different Venetian masks but otherwise completely naked. Judging on the various poses I would guess she was acting goofy when these pictures were taken. The funniest thing is they had these masks as living room wall decorations. I remember thinking: "Ah, that's why they like them!"
I didn't have a lot time to take a look. Just a minute or two, before I heard people coming up the stairs and I had to throw the album in the carton box with the other photo albums.
