Was on a long and boring work call on Friday morning. My wife doesn’t work a Friday so after a lie in she took a late shower to start her day. About 10 mins after I hear the en-suite door close and the hairdryer start my watch buzzes to inform me I have a whatsapp message from her.
The message on my watch just says “little treat” but doesn’t display the picture….
My phone is on the stand under my monitor, but I’m hosting and leading this call so as much as I’m desperate to see what she’s sent me, I have to maintain dignity and professionalism.
I put a question to one of my colleagues whilst sneakily unlocking my phone to reveal an outstanding topless selfie she sent me (clearly a precursor to her taking care of of things herself upstairs)
I respond with the usual aubergine emoji and a few words of delight before returning to the business in hand:
Later that day I had to watch the recording of the call to note down some decisions made and spot the point in the call where my eyes divert down to my phone and widen with a smirk on my face as I’m clearly seeing what she sent me. It made me wonder if any of the 4 people on the call noticed that and whether they guessed what was happening….
