Monday was a busy day. Despite a good night's sleep, I was a little 'depleted' from Friday, Saturday. Didn't have my usual morning wood. Nevertheless, I gave a presentation to the bosses about my work for the senior partners, basically that they were taking too much profit, and needed more long term investment. They seemed to buy my story, so money earned the first week. In the afternoon, I read the briefing documents for the Junior partners and had discussions with several of them. Uniformly, they realized they weren't home enough, that they suspected that many of their wives were unhappy, but the job was such a good opportunity, that they couldn't say no to 70+ hour weeks.
Connie and Betty called in late afternoon, saying they were going to bring take out, along with two of the young wives, so I could get some perspective on work-life balance. I said, if course, but come early, as I was still recovering from the weekend that Connie had started in my office.
