Memories come flooding back. Our baby was born on December 19th, my wife came home from the hospital on December 23rd and on December 26th the whole family went to a holiday home by the sea.
One afternoon my wife took the little one into our room, changed his diaper, undressed herself, lay down on the bed and put him to her breast. When he was full, the little one fell asleep, then she did. It took at least an hour before my sister Julia missed her and went into our room to check.
And there she lay, my son in her arms, she stark naked, drops of milk on her nipples and her vagina still swollen from the birth a few days before. Julia didn't know what else to do but call her husband, then my mother and stepfather, then my sister Bea with her husband and my brother. So one after the other they got to see the two of them.
During that time I had been walking on the beach with my sister-in-law and when we came back it was all over. It was more than 10 years later that Julia told me the story and how sweet and touching the picture was of her lying there on the bed with the baby in her arms. I didn't believe a word she said, but she went into her workroom and came back with a photo album from that vacation. And in the middle of it all, four pictures of my wife lying stark naked on a bed with our son in her arms, sunlighted and showing her breasts and vagina to the camera . Pictures that my brother-in-law had taken.
