When my niece had her son, we gave her a few weeks before we asked for a good time to see the baby, they lived a few hundred miles away. She and her husband were excited that we were coming, I've always been very close to her. Not only did they want us to visit, they wanted us to stay with them instead of a hotel. My SIL, my niece's mother, had died in an accident years before, my wife was kind of a mother figure to my niece.
I am not an easy sleeper, never have been, I usually get up a few times a night, 4 hours sleep is a lot. I think it was the second night were there, I went into the den to read, since I couldn't sleep. I read for an hour or so and my niece came into the room with the baby. The baby was fussy, I held him for a while so my niece could warm up to nurse the baby. She was settled on the sofa and I handed the baby to her, then I noticed she only had a light robe on and was virtually nude.
I watched her nurse, it was a beautiful thing to see, this sweet mother quietly feeding her child.
