I think leaving it hairy is again a trend mostly among nudists and those who somehow define themselves as "body positive". Similar spectrum to the hippies back in 70ies. And since mostly those are the ones going public nude and getting caught (!) we are seeing much more. Lately non of the girls I dated particularly had hairy bits.
So what I'm trying to say is I think the example pool we are looking here can not be a general representation.
