Another actress who hated having to appear nude is an actress who has been about a lot in the news recently, Amanda Abbington. Starting out as an actress in The Bill in 1993, Amanda gradually worked her way up to gain notice in TV stuff like Plotalnds (1997) and Dream Team (1999-2000). But she still wasn't famous enough to avoid having to appear nude in a TV drama called Men Only in 2001, where she is seen being shagged doggy style by Stephen Moyer video of which can be seen here:
https://forum.oneclickchicks.com/sho...postcount=1396). It was where she met future husband Martin Freeman (where she would achieve fame with him in Sherlock from 2014-17). But despite this fact, it was one scene that she later revealed in a Radio Times interview that she wished she had never done. After talking about perceived sexism in the acting industry she mentions how one actress was required to touch herself under her shirt in the script and how she told her she didn't have to do that and it was exploitative (though how when it is clearly mentioned in the script, I don't know). When Radio Times asked "Don't you think there is a place for sex on TV?" she replied:
"I had to do a sex scene in a thing called Men Only when I was younger, and I wish I hadn’t. Of course there’s a place for it, because people do have sex and they enjoy it. I’m not a prude. But I don’t like it when it’s a woman being naked for the sake of it."
As it is, her embarrassing role in Men Only (2001) is hard to come by and from what I remember of it was utterly repellent. And it didn't stop her from finding fame in the 2010's with Case Histories (2011-13), Mr Selfridge (2013-16) and of course Sherlock before notice of a different type in Strictly Come Dancing last year. The fact that she met her future husband on Men Only should also be a positive for her in stripping off. But if you ever come across it you will see Amanda's "glitterballs" on display and have the added benefit that you are seeing an actress who found doing the whole scene hugely embarrassing. Bless her.
