Are you in Europe? I have similar recollection that, even though shaving became 'fashionable' earlier, it's only really the last 5-10 years where going totally bald has become mainstream with 'normal' people, for example in spas.
Great to hear of your and your wife's journey, me and my wife seem to have a lot more fun now we're smooth too!
