Luckily the AANR family-oriented resort provided a much more "stress-free" experience for her. The people were friendly, and no one made her feel like a "center of attention" (unless she chose to be). It was much easier to socialize and get comfortable naked around people, who were all naked themselves and practiced nudist etiquette.
The fact that my wife embraces full nudity while socializing at the resort; but can't "get there" at the beach speaks to the fact that "environment" matters. "Public" nudity is not for everyone.

We've been doing nude beaches all over the world, and have been hitting clothing-optional beaches for the last 25+ years. VERY few negative experiences. So, experiences will vary...
