Another factor is swimwear. If you watch programmes like Love Island (UK) this year you'll see swimsuits that don't have room for pubic hair!
Programmes like these often set the trends and sure enough you are seeing more of these in real life.
To me it's an indication that shaving is getting more, rather than less common.
I've seen lots of women at the pool, beach or waterpark where there must have been major hair removal (of course, a small landing strip could have been left).

The original survey was about actual observations (e.g.at nude beach, spas etc.), but it is interesting to discuss what the true number would be too.
