I’m currently on holiday in the Algarve and we’ve done a fair bit of beach hopping. This seems to be pretty common as people bounce from beach to beach and from town to beach.

Funny enough on our first day as we entered the beach from a large set of rock steps there was a couple who arrived a few minutes before us. They were German and she was blonde and fit.
