Not asian but I had a violin/strings teacher who was white and a bit old but it didn't matter. During the spring concerts she always wore a semi long skirt, as context violin was all I did so while the rest of the class did the choir parts of the concert I stayed back with my violin teacher and helped put away the used instruments in the supply closet.
