Noticed this in mainland Spain recently. During the day at the beach, more tourists, more covered. As the workday ended, locals came to the beach (thankfully the sun sets so late in the summer in Spain). The locals wore just tiny bikini bottoms - besides having the absolute rockin bods. Not quite a waste of time going during the day, but the best show started after 4 pm.
