I'm a home theater/automation designer. Have been since the 90's. My personal policy has always been to go 'dial in' the system after the installers are finished. Really get it tweaked properly.
99% of the times I have hit 'play' on customers' new VHS/DVD/BluRay/4K players without checking the contents?

Every. Damn. Time...except for one really boring retired couple who had 'River Dance'.
Every few months, I forget and hit 'play' without checking. It's always awkward when the customer is sitting right there with me.
