My wife is very religious and shy and modest.

She still has never worn a bikini to the beach or a swimming pool and she is careful about always being properly covered.

However, in a medical setting, it is as if there is a giant off switch for her modesty.

It is as if she doesn't care who sees what as long as it is for her health.

One time, when she was about 6 weeks pregnant with our first child, she had some abdominal pain (it turned out to be due to some food), and we went to the Emergency Room at the local University hospital.

It was crowded and we were placed in a "room" that was just a set of 3 curtains (2 on the sides and one in the front) that were more often than not left at least partially open.

She was told to undress completely and put on a gown which she did not even caring that the nurse only closed the curtain half way on her way out and she was visible to anyone walking in the hallway.

When the male EKG tech came in to do an EKG and asked her if she could lower her gown so he could attach the leads, she just lowered it all the way, exposing her chest completely without any hesitation.

It being a teaching hospital, there were med students following the doctor and she had no problem with them observing her pelvic exam and transvaginal ultrasound.

What was strange was observing her when we left the hospital after being given a clean bill of health. It was a little windy and she was wearing a skirt, but she was super careful about keeping her skirt down as she got into our car. It was like the switch was flipped back on.

Anybody else have any experiences like this?
