My wife is religious, but we have admitted to each other that our religious enthusiasm is draining us. We are believers, but becoming exhausted by expectations. After our kids left the nest a few years ago, she became more open to things that were previously "sinful" in her eyes: sex toys, dirty language during sex, occasional pictures (never exposing nips or pussy, but her ass yes) and even lightweight fantasy.
