Post Good Sauna for Skiing in Austria

Someone was asking about an "Adult Hotel" in Sölden, Austria. Like others said, I think it simply means that you can't bring kids, not that there are any special activities.

If you keep going up the valley from Sölden (this is the Ötztal, where the "ice man" Ötzi was found), you will go up another set of switchbacks and get to the end of the road at the three towns of Gurgl, Untergurgl, and Obergurgl. Obergurgl is best known to skiers, even though all three are pretty much right there together. It is a good place to ski - highest villages in Austria with guaranteed snow at the end of November (i.e., US Thanksgiving). Some good hotels, but one I liked as both a hotel and because of the sauna is the Jagdhotel Panorama. They have one large, open room in the basement, with some showers in one corner, sauna and steamrooms, and they have a large, heated circular pool/bath. Not a small jacuzzi, but a large thing. Anyway, if you like gawking, there is plenty to see. But I like it because it is really relaxing and the hotel is not too big and does have a bit more of a hunting lodge feeling than some of the larger, more "sleek" hotels. Plus, it is pretty much a ski-in/ski-out hotel. OK, you have to go a little bit uphill from the hotel to the first lift, but you can do it on skis.

Viel Spass!
