Stony you are using Windows Movie Maker, right?
1. Drag the video you are edititing down to the timeline.
2. Click on "View video effects".
3. Click and drag the "Brightness, Increase" icon and release it over your clip in the timeline.
4. Repeat as necessary.
5. Click "Save to my computer".
