...Torretxt and her naked adventure
Of all the photos that I took at the 2007 Fremont Parade, none are more special than the one posted below. That’s because of all the riders that participated in this year’s event, none are more dear to me than the violet and very naked brunette shown waving to the crowd. Why? Well, for one, she just happens to be an OCC member. But also, its because she is just plain fantastic. Folks, I’’d like you all to meet........TORRETXT - OCC’s very own painted naked cyclist!
Yup, the story of Torretxt’s quest to fulfil her dream of riding naked in this years parade began right here in this forum about a year ago. After seeing some photos I took of last years cyclists, a yearning to ride suddenly took hold of her. And then it never let go. Over the next twelve months that I had the pleasure to be in contact with Torre by E-mail, I watched her slow but steady transformation from shy, conservative Floridian to free spirited biker in the buff. It wasn’t easy, and she would be the first to admit that it might not have all been possible without some help. So I offered my support and encouragement, as did others, but I could also tell that Torre had the determination and will to do this on her own if need be. That was truly inspiring, and should set an example for any woman contemplating such an adventure in the future. It was that determination that got her on a plane headed for Seattle, and the rest is, well, history. Torre’s most famous words, “I just HAVE to do this”, are still ringing in my ears....
So, really, Torre - what I’m trying to say is this: This is YOUR acheivement, and that is why this thread is dedicated to YOU. You are beautiful, complex and courageous, and we at OCC salute you. This, folks, is exactly what public nudity is all about. It is a spirit that lies in every one of us, but only a few have the courage to express it. So congratulations, Torretxt - you have brought great joy to my life and made us all smile
Oh, and BTW - Torretxt herself will be by shortly to post a personal account of her experience. I have read it, and it is great. So stay tuned......
