It depends on what you want, I suppose. For peace and quiet, go during the week. If you want to see more of a crowd, try Friday or Saturday or Sunday. Bathing is mixed those days (I think Monday and Thursday are the only two that are not) and you get some tourists. Since you are no longer limited on time, I would get there in the morning and stay as long as you like. Afternoon can be good, if that is all you can get. If you are going to stay in Baden-Baden, then afternoon or evening is good, since the experience will help you relax even more.
