Margaret and I often attend pagan/new-age type festivals as they're things we're interested in.
Sometimes they're just a day long, and it's a tour around some crystal stalls, check out a few new age books, listen to a couple of folk-y acts as the music bill and go home.
Others last a weekend, and we're camped up in our camper van, with a couple of tents pitched to create our own little camp within a camp-site vibe, gas cooker going, nettle tea brewing and, if the weather's good, probably in some pretty loose, hippyish clothing, enjoying a weekend vibe. A wind-break will be put up and if we can pick a good, isolated spot to camp we'll be wearing sarongs or less within our own created private area.
At some of these, there will be shamanic drum circles, sweat lodges, meditation and fire (and water) ritual involved.
All don't necessarily lead to routine or casual nudity, but some do.
Sweat lodges these days invite 'loose clothing' or swimwear, and yet sometimes nudity will happen naturally, even for those who have never been publicly nude before was they immerse themselves in the meditational experience.
The act of 'skinny dipping' at the nearby lake or river happens too, either as part of a sweat lodge experience or in parallel to it. Often set in woodland, the whole meditational 'back to nature' experience leads some to strip off for walks in the woods. Sometimes you just 'feel' it all, and the desire to be out of clothing, and bridging a gap to older, simpler and often naked times.
