The only way to erase data on a sd card is to overwrite each sector.
On a hard drive you even have to overwrite several time with different patterns because with high end material you can displace the head for reading remanent magnetism of previous writing.
This can be done in white chambers and by opening the disk.
It's only done for very important data or criminal affairs as it cost a lot of money.

I used to do web design for a company in town. The company (boss) bought a digital camera because I needed to take various photos to include on websites for clients. Cell phone cameras sucked back then. Then the boss took the camera home one Friday evening and brought it back Monday morning. Apparently he thought deleting the images wiped the pics of his hot blonde huge boobed wife with a freckle on her right labia. She stopped by the office quite a bit and I had fantasized. Fantasizing was no longer required after that weekend.
