I had one of those flatbed scanners back in to 90's, yes they were expensive and yes, friends wanted to use them to scan some of their personal pics, this was before digital cams. One of the guys in my office was a newlywed, his bride was pretty hot, he was hinting that he wanted to use the scanner, but he didn't want me to see her pics, understandable. I told him he could use it in and I will be watching a football game, he could put the pics on floppies and no one would see them but him (a white lie). In actuality I set the cache on the scanner so it could save the last few hundred pics scanned.
