I had a nice little thread based on a Beatle's song called "I Saw Her Standing There." It was just pictures of women standing, with a little twist: Each post was to be accompanied by a Beatle's lyric. There are OCC members who like to spread their photos around the forum instead of starting their own threads. No harm in that. HOWEVER...when a thread has a specific theme, as many of mine do, it annoys me when these guest posters ignore the theme. It tells me they never even looked at the thread before they dumped their pictures on it....never read the theme. They just saw a thread that had a lot of "Thanks" and figured it would get their pictures more views. Sadly, the pictures are usually grainy reposts from 20 years ago or headless wives with bodies like slugs.

"I Saw Her Standing There" was popular. Guest posters, aka trespassers, kept dumping on it. I work at making my threads fun, interesting and somewhat fresh in content. That's much harder to do than spreading the same pictures of a headless slug on several threads. The forum offers no way to block such posters...other than using the less convenient album section. I got tired of asking mods to delete off theme posts. I got tired of reposting the theme. I even changed my signature asking people to read my themes (Always on my first post) but the shit kept coming. So, reluctantly, I closed the thread.

There was a band in the 80s out of Akron, Ohio called DEVO. They had a theme to their name. The name DEVO comes from the concept of "de-evolution" and the band's related idea was that instead of continuing to evolve, mankind had begun to regress, as evidenced by the dysfunction and herd mentality of American society. They were correct then. They're really correct now.

I decided to appeal to the lowest common denominator. This is a thread for the thoughtless. This is a thread for the stupid. This is "I Saw Her Standing There" without the apparently too complicated for dumbed down people twist.

Not sitting. Not crouching. Not laying on their backs with their legs in the air or on all fours like a cat. Simply, standing. Can you guys handle that?
