Maybe they tried, but it was the only available day - I don't know - here are some guesses why Saturday 11 September 2021 might have been the only available day.
Perhaps the organizers did prefer another date, but could not get city permits, or there were other events in that city already booked for Sunday 12th.
WNBR rides tend to be (permitted) at the weekend to minimize traffic disruption and allow people of working age to participate. Northern hemisphere rides tend to be in June, early July and early September to allow students to participate and while it is still reliably warm. Only 15-20 days available.
There is also the disruption due to Covid-19, according to onmilwaukee.com/articles/world-naked-bike-ride

Some people might find the date insensitive but I don't think any disrespect is intended.
