When I was younger(I am 37 years old now), like between 15-20 years old, I usually didnt have the courage to leave my zipper open intentionally, I think that the very first time that I did it was when I was 19 years old and got turned on very much by seeing a girl at a discotheque, she was with another girl and both were dancing near me and I couldn't help noticing that the first girl forgot to close her zipper (I went to the bathroom and left my zipper open and returned to the dancefloor but unfortunately the two girls didn't notice my open zipper).
I think that it only has been a few years that I started getting more confident about leaving my zipper open intentionally, it still happens that I get too nervous for doing it but I have gotten better at it, being relaxed and/or horny helps of course, when I am tired/stressed, it doesn't work.
