Yup. Although I do both (I've probably pulled one off to your wife/gf!) I'd rather use photos and vids of my own wife that either I or someone else has taken.
Its one thing to look at a 2D photo and quite another when your memory can take it to another level and you can remember the feel, the taste and the scent of what you're looking at.
