Many many visits to a certain capital city I have visited saunas! Not naming it- but we had a Rights Stag do there once! SOUND familiar! #seewhatIdidthere.
But yeah, it's name is like a big animal, Yogi was one, with some more letters after it.
Here is a rundown of the classics: Byinitial only.
L - Tourist, and plays to it a little, but still maintains a "Germaness" about the rules. Sauna are is now more partitioned off than previously, and I think that also slightly limits casual "wandering," even though it's a small complex anyway. Highlight is the genuine international mix - many people seem to have a "heck, lets just go for it" attitude. I've seen groups of students for example in the sauna. One of the best for chatting (In English) to people too.
V- New, massive and wonderful. Textile free outdoor pool, amny many saunas and 95% locals- mainly smarter middle class types. Can host at most maybe 50 people in the group sessions, and is nearly always well mixed with men and women. Can have a great time sitting in hot tubs, watching the people go by.
S- Different, much smaller and much more intimate. Very local, but never unfriendly.
O- Same as above, and again quite a small place, beautiful design. Dark means that not too much "on show."
And several more- to be explored.
My main highlight is twofold- I love seeing people going in, clothed, and then meeting them again in sauna sessions. But oddly, best of all, I like seeing people as theyleave, pay (checkout) etc in their normal clothes. How they dress, how they look "in clothes" is an interesting contrast to the nudity. Checking out a neat little bum bum in jeans when uou have already see it naked is... fun!
