I have been painting the inside of a house we own that we are going to move into soon. Last night, my friend (female) wanted to come with to see it while I painted for a few hours.
After we got there, I went to change into painting clothes. I changed my shorts in front of her in the kitchen area, not unusual for me to do, but when I went to change my shirt, I realized I grabbed one of my kids' shirts. (I have a bunch of shirts for contractors given out at events/promotions in my closet for things like painting, and I grabbed one without thinking about the size.) So I just ended up painting in just crummy shorts and no shirt.
After a bit, my friend said "I wish I brought a change of clothes so that I could paint with you! It looks like fun!" She also said if she tried painting in her nice clothes then she would surely make a mess.
I joked with her that she could paint in her underwear, then she said, "But I have a really nice bra on that I wouldn't want to get paint on." Then I said, "Well, you can paint topless like me. Equal topless freedom and all that!" (She's one of "those" types who will complain that women can't go topless, but then when she CAN go topless, she still won't.)
She said, "You are serious, aren't you?" I said, "Of course I am!"
She said, "Okay, if you paint naked then I will paint topless, but I am keeping on my underwear because I don't care much about the ones I am wearing."
So, I stripped off my shorts and underwear and started painting naked. (She has seen me naked a bunch of times; all my friends have for various reasons.)
She said, "Of course you would get naked for any reason. What was I thinking."
She never did get topless. I never expected her to anyway. I put my shorts back on after just a minute or so, and she never painted. She just sat there.
As we drove back to my current house where her car was, she said, "Sorry I didn't paint topless like I said I would. Maybe next time. I kind of wish I did now. If you are still painting in a few weeks then I promise I will."
I will be done painting in a few weeks, so her promise is moot.
I told my wife all about it and she got upset on my behalf that my friend didn't follow through.
It did make me wonder why I haven't been painting naked all this time already, though. I have been alone while painting all this time, and if anyone stopped by, they wouldn't bat an eye as I am naked any chance I get in the first place. Hmmm. Could be fun, especially as some people are planning on stopping by from time to time this week while I am there.
