Wow, loved Karlhein’s story, I wish I had that experience.

Slightly different since I’m not the repair guy, and I posted this in another thread a while back.

We have a maintenance contract on our furnaces and A/C units. So, a couple times a year we get service calls to make sure everything is in good working order before the heating season and then before the summer for A/C. The way our systems are, the lower level has a furnace/blower in the basement, and the 2nd floor is controlled by one in the attic. Even for the A/C, the guy has to check the blower after looking over the compressors outside.

It just goes that the attic one has the entrance in our walk-in closet. One of those ones where you pull down the ladder from the ceiling. Our master bedroom suite has a sitting room, then the bedroom, and then doors next to each other for our bathroom and the walk-in closet.

In the past, she’s always scheduled the visit and made sure to get ready before the guy arrives. This time I made it, for early Morning, knowing she would sleep in as usual. I “forgot” to tell her he was coming early. He started in the basement, and outside, then said he would go upstairs. I acted like I was busy and said “yeah, go ahead, you know where it is”. He was a younger guy (late 20’s) and had been here before. Earlier, I heard my wife getting up, hearing the sink, then the toilet. I knew the shower was next. As soon as I heard the water start, I ran upstairs and made sure the door to the bathroom was mostly open (she never closes it tight because you would have to really walk into our suite to even see the bathroom. And she didn’t expect a visitor. Oops.

I also made sure to rearrange some of the laundry in the basket on the floor if the closet. Put a pair of panties and a bra on top. Then moved the basket a little so he would have to move it when he brought the ladder down. I know, bad.

I then ran back to my office and played it casual when he asked if he could go upstairs. He had to realize the shower was going as he got closer. He knows the layout of our home. I only wish I had a camera to have captured what happened. He must have seen her, the angle is pretty good without having to stand in the doorway. How much did he see? How long did he see? Did she notice?

After his check he came down, did all his paperwork and then told me everything was good and left. I wanted to drop some hints to find out what he saw, but didn’t. Later, when she came down, she was mildly upset. She asked why I didn’t tell her they were coming by and I just said it totally slipped my mind. She told me she came out in a towel after drying off and saw the ladder down. She called up and he announced he was from the company and doing the checks. She told me she went back in the bathroom and closed the door until she was sure he left.

She asked me if I thought he saw anything, and I told her I doubted it. He was just there to do a job. She acted embarrassed, but I’m not so sure. I wish she had just waited in the sitting room with the towel, or naked, but that’s like a porn movie not real life. Who knows, a few months from now they need to check the heating system.

I wonder if she trusts me to make the appointment again.
