I agree: you don't have to explain it to me. Good thing too, because there really is no way to explain it . . .
And I also agree that you don't have to lie. It's not something you must do, just something you chose to do.
You're really not helping yourself, unless your goal is to look like greater and greater fool. But feel free to continue if that's what floats your boat.
