I got a new SONY camera for this summer which I hope will give a good account of itself.
It's a compact with 30x zoom and built in WiFi so you can operate it with a phone. So you can look like it's not being used or is hidden but is actually being controlled by the phone.
Might be a folly, but I wanted a compact with a good zoom in any case and for £65 ($100) second hand (they are £200 new) I figured worth a punt.
