Nudist resorts nowadays are pretty good at prohibiting the use of recording devices. Heck you can barely use your phone at some of them.
One of the things was that "back in the day" nudism was pretty secretive. From what I read "anonymity" was pretty strictly enforced.

But the main reason for the "decline" that I can theorize on of is that simply the "times" were different. The 60's was a big time for cultural change (counterculture) so it's not surprising that people would be more inclined to take part in that movement; which included social nudity - one of those "taboo" things that people reacted against.
These days it's more of a "recreational activity" than a "movement." So more people seem to "come and go" as opposed to the "hardcore members" of yesteryear.
As a result, I've seen resorts "packed to the brim" on some days; and almost empty on others. There doesn't seem to be as much consistency. But overall; I don't think the actual amount of nudists has changed much. They just don't visit as frequently.

I try to do my part keeping "nudism alive." I try to go to nudist resorts as often as possible; and I'm lucky enough to have a wife who is ok being naked around other people at the resort. I just wish there were a bit more of us.
