it did seem like there was a coordinated effort against it by these people (who seem to care much more about animals than persons). but calendars by this group have been done for years, as well as similar calendars worldwide, it's normative and traditional now.
edit: i have confirmed it is indeed due to the comments on twitter
i don't think this has ever happened before in the history of calendars, and i'm firmly against it.
