I'll say it again. The rule doesn't say, "do not crop watermarks." The rules says, "DO NOT POST a picture with the watermark edited out."

This means that it is incumbant on you to check to see if a watermark has been edited.

I will say this again; MOST of the beach pictures here are edited watermarks, which I why I think it best to close the threads since no one is checking.

And I will say THIS again; if you do not like the rule as written by the owner of the site, send him a PM and ask him to change the rules.
How exactly is the average poster supposed to know whether a pic is cropped or not? A lot of the pics posted in this thread originate from other forums and aren't cropped by the posters on this forum. If a poster has to check every single pic posted whether it is cropped or not nothing will ever get posted as a lot of posters don't have time to trawl the internet to try to find out if it's cropped, I know I don't. You might as well close down the whole site as nothing will ever get posted.

Nowhere in the rules does it say that it is incumbant on the member to check if a pic is cropped or not (it only says not to crop pics to avoid posting watermarked pics). This is the job of moderators as yourself to identify these posts and it is incumbant on you, as moderator, to remove such posts.

Now, if a member is knowingly posting cropped pics it's another story but there is almost no way of knowing that for sure and threatening to close a whole thread that is over 700 pages long and almost a decade old over a couple of cropped pics (which is your job as moderator to remove) is a total dick move.
