Went to this event last week. Good number of runners, pretty evenly split between the genders. No efforts to cover up and very well lit. Most of them seem to make a couple laps around the quad. It does not go on for a "long time," but there were at least a decent amount of runners for 10 minutes. I did not see anyone taking pictures or with a phone out, but it is possible that people congregated at the start were able to. I did not notice any flashes.
Tons of security - guards at every entrance to the quad and within the corners and sides of the quad itself - I would estimate 20 officials. They didn't seem to talk to any students or bystanders. From some quick research, I understand they are in place to prevent any unwanted touching, which may have occurred a number of years ago (also did not see any unwanted touching).
Because of all this was unable to get any pics, but attached is one from a previous trip at the same time of year to Happy Valley in central PA (a run which I heard may have been earlier this year for the GoT battle) - sorry for the blurry quality but they were running by in the dark
