I would draw your attention to the lady who rode the Brighton ride a couple of years back, who was transitioning for a comparison- it's a slight shame that unless started earlier the most obvious signifiers can be altered (genitalia etc) but actual physical shape is harder unless started very early.
In both the US and UK it is required that trans people live as their real gender for a while before the actual operations, so whilst it isn't definite it is most likely that if she was a she transitioning to a male she would have short hair and look more traditionally 'male'
