The "thank you" was only that, "thank you." We have a button for that. It's called the THANKS button.
Try to imagine life without the THANKS button, and if everyone who would have used it, posted, "thank you," instead. How many repetitive posts, and pages of those posts, would we have to scroll through to get to the next post with real content?
I went through a thread last month that was about 50 pages long. I removed all the "thanks," "more pleases," "nice tits," and all the other inane, monosyllabic, useless comments and presto, the thread was 12 pages long.
