Or he did not want to be "caught" and possibly arrested if the lady of the house woke and saw this "strange man" in her apartment staring at her naked form - despite him being expected, and he probably had a pass key and the lease has terms allowing him to enter... Reality sucks sometimes when it gets in the way...
