When I was about 9, I broke my left leg and badly twisted my right ankle. I was wheelchair bound and back then, maybe 1958, getting around in a wheelchair was not easy. My older, married sister, after a lot of begging, agreed to take me to a professional wrestling match which was in an old arena near us. It had wood bleacher seating and was pretty rough. We got there and the only ways to get to the main arena was up stairs.

My sister saw a lady who had been taking tickets and asked her how I could get in. That lady told us to follow her. We went down a bit, and then it leveled out. There was a tent like area that was at the end of this part of the building. It was lit and there was a lot of talking behind the heavy d****s of the tent looking thing. The lady told us to stay there while she went inside. I heard her ask for everyone's attention, then she said she had a poor crippled kid who needed a wheelchair to get around. She then asked if anyone objected if my sister pushed me through to the ramp up to the arena's main floor. I heard some "no's" then the lady came out and told my sister just to push me trough to the other side---we would see the ramp.

Yes, the tent opened and it was about 10 women wrestlers, all undressed, some fully nude. Several came over and said hello. I thought it was amazing that a fully naked woman would stand in front of me! She and others said they hope I could walk soon. Not one tried to cover up. We went to the other side and rolled up a ramp to the arena floor. I saw this was the ramp the wrestlers used to come up to the ring.

I have no idea how, but the men came up the same ramp. Did they walk through the ladies dressing room? That was a mind boggling thought.

After the event, we walked back through but there were only 4 women. Others had left after their event.

I was in heaven. My friends were amazed. One memory, some women were at least mostly shaved but a couple had a lot of hair. I wondered why.
