One aspect seeing these pictures of nudism from the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s puzzles me. One wonders how these women reconciled their weekend lifestyle with the mores and values of those times. Strict conformity and conservative behavior was expected. And yet these “June Cleavers” were shedding their pearls along with everything else and gladly showing off what God and their mothers had given them.

Perhaps they were spending time at the nudist “colonies” of the day with friends and neighbors that they serve on PTA with. Some might be sitting in church having a clear vision of what Mrs Smith looks like under that fine skirt and crinoline. Mrs Jones knowing that Elder Jones has in his trousers. And they live a secret life on weekends and long summer vacations.
