I don't know about Haulover, but yes, at Gunnison, when piping plover nesting season is done, usually after Labor Day, you can walk south toward fishing Beach "F". A pretty good hike for sure, my guess would be 3/4 mile. OK, curiosity got the best of me. I just checked Google Maps, looks like nearly a full mile!
