Sandy wrecked the privacy of Lighthouse Beach by washing away the dunes. The head ranger made the decision to discontinue nude use after 40+ years.
Gunnison still rules. It is very crowded and awesome. I go as often as I can. The difference between pre and post sandy is that the concession stand at the entrance is closed and has been replaced by a food truck and parts of the beach are fenced off, but I suspect that is due to nesting sea birds.
