This is one of my favorite sexy TV/sexy comedy moments that I haven't thought about in a while. I distinctly remember trying to watch this back in the day in a crappy RealMedia streaming video with my 56k modem and basically just seeing a blurry mess. Now, 20+ years later, here's the full monologue as it deserves to be seen, in HD.
I've never been a huge Pamela Anderson fan or anything, but I find this moment incredibly sexy, even if it is obvious that she's wearing coverings, and even if she has been naked countless other times and in countless other places. Her stripping off live on national TV, and in front of a live studio audience, for the sake of a joke, with her being naked as the punchline and the sole point of the entire monologue, is just really hot to me.
I've also always been curious about how they pulled off that censoring during a live broadcast, from a technical point of view. As far as I know, SNL has never attempted something like that again, which is really a shame, but does make this quite unique.
Title, description, and air date from the SNL website:
Quote:
Monologue: Imagine Pamela Anderson Naked
Nervous about hosting SNL, Pamela Anderson misremembers the old saying about imagining the audience naked, and asks everyone to imagine her naked instead, before baring all to the audience.
Season 22, Episode 18 - 04/19/1997
