Another one I've seen results from is mounting a GoPro or Sony Action Cam in a large plastic drink cup with a hole cut in the side for the lens to peek out (look for a cup with writing on it that includes at least one letter "O"). Make sure you have a lid & a straw & pretend to take a drink on a regular basis. Both GoPro and Sony have devices that look like sports watches, but are actually tiny remote controls with viewing screens. By wearing the control face in (like many people wear their watches) you can keep the screen close to your body and private. These same mini cameras can be monitored via smartphones as well, although in that case why not just use the smart phone camera. The problem with these types of adventure cameras is they have very, very wide angle lenses (so you have to get very close to your subject of interest), and tend to give a "fisheye" look to your videos / photos.
It's also important to understand the dynamics of the beach, and how much personal space people expect at a particular location. You know, like if there are only 4 people on 2km of beach, and you spend 1/2 hour sauntering around the only topless or nude woman, while wearing jeans & a long sleeve shirt, then you are asking for trouble. Conversely, if a small or narrow beach has a lot of people on it, people of all ages & genders are walking freely, passing close to topless female sun bathers, and you are dressed appropriately (as in wearing something similar to other beach goers of your gender and age), then it would be extremely unlikely that you would have any trouble using any of the sample techniques mentioned in the last few posts.
Case in point, one well known nude beach shooter from the early 2000's would get naked himself at the nude beach, find a likely prospect, settle himself into a viable filming position, and actually spend a believable amount of time sunbathing himself, before moving on.
Too many people post on forums like this thinking there is one single magic bullet solution that will let you shoot a dozen ILoveThe Beach style videos in half an hour.
There is NOT!!!
If you really want to do this, then you need to use your imagination, you will need to test out several variations of several techniques, and above all, practice, practice, practice.
The real question people interested in this hobby should be asking themselves is:
How good do you want to be, and how much time / money are you willing to spend on it???
If you think you are going to do this for $20, and get good at it in 20 minutes, you will much more likely find yourself sitting in a jail somewhere in the world.
